1. The short version
We collect only what we need to run your account, deliver the services you ask for, and meet our legal obligations. We don't sell your data. We don't share your birth details, kundli, or consultation history with anyone outside the people you are consulting with, except where the law requires it. You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time.
2. Who this applies to
This Policy applies to all visitors and users of the Apna Sanatan website, mobile applications and related services (the Platform), operated by Inddev Innovation Studio Private Limited (CIN U96906HR2025PTC128869).
3. What we collect
Information you give us
- Identity. Name, email, mobile number, and a profile photo if you choose to add one.
- Birth details for kundli and personalisation. Date, time and place of birth; janma rashi; janma nakshatra; ishta-devata (deity preference); regional calendar tradition.
- Shipping address. For marketplace orders, the address and contact details you enter at checkout.
- Consultation inputs. Anything you type in chat or share by voice or video with the astrologer during a session.
- Communication preferences. Which channels (email, WhatsApp, push) you have opted into.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and usage data. Device model, OS version, IP address, app version, screen views, taps, search terms, and crash logs.
- Location. Approximate location derived from IP, and precise location only if you explicitly grant permission for panchang calculations.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Session and analytics cookies on the web; equivalent identifiers on mobile.
Information from third parties
- Payment metadata. Payment status, transaction ID, masked card or UPI ID — received from our payment aggregator. We never see your full card number, CVV or UPI PIN.
- Astrology computations. Chart-level data computed by our VedicAstro API integration when you generate a kundli.
4. Why we use it
We use your data only for the purposes below. We do not use it for any other purpose without your consent.
- To create and operate your account.
- To deliver the services you have asked for — running consultations, generating kundli reports, processing marketplace orders, computing your daily panchang.
- To process payments and prevent payment fraud.
- To send you transactional messages — OTP, booking confirmations, delivery updates, and customer-care responses.
- To send marketing only when you have opted in, and in line with the channels you have selected.
- To improve the Platform — analytics, crash reporting, A/B testing.
- To comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
5. Who we share it with
Your data is shared only with these categories of recipients, and only for the purposes listed above:
- The astrologer you have booked. Your name, profile summary and any information you choose to share in the session. Astrologers are bound to keep this confidential.
- Payment aggregators. Razorpay and PhonePe Payment Gateway, who process payments under their own PCI DSS compliance.
- Logistics partners. Reputed courier companies, for delivering marketplace orders.
- Service providers under contract. Cloud hosting (Microsoft Azure, DigitalOcean), email delivery (Brevo), WhatsApp messaging (MSG91), calls and video (Agora), push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), analytics (Microsoft Clarity), error monitoring (Sentry, Honeybadger).
- Government authorities, where required by valid legal process.
- Acquirers or successors, in the event of a merger, acquisition or restructuring of Inddev — under continuing confidentiality obligations.
We do not sell your data or rent it to advertisers. We do not share your birth details or consultation content with anyone outside the astrologer involved in that consultation.
6. How long we keep it
We keep different categories of data for different periods, set by operational need and legal obligation:

7. Your rights
You can, at any time, ask us to:
- Show you the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything inaccurate or out of date.
- Delete your account and personal data. Some records — invoices, tax records, fraud-prevention logs — must be retained for the period set out above; we will delete the rest.
- Export your kundli and order history in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communication, without affecting transactional messages essential to delivering services.
To exercise any of these rights, write to care@apnasanatan.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Account deletion
You can request account deletion at any time from within the app or by writing to us. We operate a 30-day grace window — if you sign in again during this window, deletion is cancelled and your account is restored. After 30 days the account is hard-purged, except for financial records we are legally required to retain.
9. Children
The Platform is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided data to us, please write to care@apnasanatan.com and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, and production access controlled to a small operations team. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever become aware of a personal-data breach that materially affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities in the manner required by law.
11. International transfers
Our primary data hosting is in India. Some service providers (e.g. analytics, error monitoring) may process data on servers in other countries; we choose providers that offer contractual or legal safeguards equivalent to those required under Indian law.
12. Cookies and tracking
We use a small set of cookies and similar identifiers: essential cookies to keep you signed in; analytics cookies to understand product usage in aggregate; and preference cookies to remember your choices. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time; doing so will sign you out and reset personalisation.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy. The current version is the one at this URL, dated above. Material changes will be notified through the Platform or by email.
